Gauge 20 sts, 28 rows = 4” in st st on US Size 7 (4.5mm) knitting needle before blocking. 16 sts, 28 rows = 4” in st st on US Size 7 (4.5mm) knitting needle after blocking. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Designer Note: Since the cowl is worked in the round with stripes, there is a tendency for the beginning of the round to have a “jog.” A jog is when the stripes don’t line up at the beginning and end of the round. To prevent a “jog” from occurring, slip the first stitch of every other round purlwise, with yarn in back. In addition, there is no need to cut the non-working yarn. Simply carry it up loosely on the inside of the work. Twist it together with the working yarn at the beginning of the round on every other round.
